Indosat Boat Patrol and Monitoring System

In order to maintain the security of submarine cable lines in the Ancol and Sunda Strait area, in September 2019, PT Indosat Ooredoo assigned PT Sarana Global Indonesia to conduct the “Maintenance Service of Boat Patrolling SMW-3 Submarine Cable” for 3 years with the following tasks:

  • Provide and managed service for operating AIS Monitoring System
  • Carry out boat patrol on cable line of SMW-3 S3.3 in Merak Sea for 100 km and S3.2 in Ancol Sea for 30 km, including vessel intercept if required

SKKL Sabang-Lhokseumawe-Medan

SGI was entrusted by PT Infrastruktur Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Telkom Infra), a subsidiary of PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk, to carry out the deployment of Sea-Cable Communication System (SKKL) Sabang – Lhokseumawe – Medan (SLM) which was successfully completed in May 2019 by using cable ship Teliri and Pacific Guardian.
The total length of the deployed submarine cables are:
Sabang – Lhokseumawe (238km)
Lhokseumawe – Medan (333km)

Our scope of works are as follows:

  • Supply and installation of OSP FO terrestrial cable in Lhokseumawe area

  • PLGR works

  • Main lay works (buried & surface lay)

    PT. Sarana Global Indonesia  as one of Indonesian reputable company whose target is to cover a full range of marine activities, covering survey, installation and maintenance of submarine system, has been awarded a contract as a sub-contractor to deploy 2000-kilometers submarine cable system by PT. Palapa Ring Barat, a company established under a consortium of Jakarta-based telecom company PT. Mora Telematika Indonesia and a submarine cable deployer firm. This company has recently signed a contract as Main Contractor for Palapa Ring West Part Project and then has responsibility for connecting Riau province, the Riau Islands and the Natuna Island of Sumatra with 2,000-kilometers of fiber-optic cable. The consortium is entitled to a 15-year concession for the broadband connection worth Rp. 1.71 trillion ($127 million) in net present value.

    The purpose of this project is to define the overall scope of works including network configuration, fiber connectivity, capacity design, wavelength plan and performance parameters required of the networks.
